❄️ About the Winter Classic

The RCSA Winter Classic is the 1st Annual RCSA Youth Flag Football Postseason Tournament for the Sacramento Region! This one-day tournament gives local flag football teams a chance to finish the fall season with competitive postseason play while bringing programs from across the Sacramento area together. The tournament is an open invitation to local flag football teams, including teams currently participating in community and recreational leagues throughout the region. Tournament proceeds will help RCSA provide scholarship opportunities for youth participating in the upcoming RCSA Winter League.

🏈 Divisions

Separate Boys and Girls divisions will be offered for:

• 9/10

• 11/12

• 13/14

Each division is limited to 8 teams, so registration may close before the deadline if a division fills.

📅 Tournament Format

The Winter Classic will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2026 and feature 5v5 non-contact flag football, with every registered team receiving a 3-game guarantee.

Teams will compete in organized tournament play, with championship rounds determining the winner of each division. RCSA rules will be in effect, and the tournament rulebook will be provided to participating coaches before the event.

📋 Team & Player Requirements

All players must be properly registered and listed on their team's official tournament roster. Teams must wear matching uniforms, and coaches should be prepared to complete team check-in before their first scheduled game on Sunday, December 6.

Proof of age may be required at check-in, so coaches and families should have appropriate age-verification documentation available.

🎂 Age Eligibility

Player eligibility is determined by the player's age on Sunday, December 6, 2026.

For example, a player who is 10 years old on December 6 may participate in the 9/10 Division. If that player turns 11 on or before December 6, they must participate in the 11/12 Division.

Younger players may play up into an older division, but older players may not play down into a younger division.

❤️ Play With a Purpose

The Winter Classic is about more than winning a championship. Tournament proceeds will support RCSA scholarship opportunities for the upcoming Winter League, helping provide more children with access to organized flag football regardless of their family's ability to pay.

Come represent your team at Inderkum High School on Sunday, December 6, compete against programs from across the Sacramento region, and help us continue creating opportunities for young athletes.
